Advanced Swim Levels

AGES 4 AND UP

(Supervised Swimmer)

The Beginner courses for ages 4 and up develop confidence and skills as swimmers make the transition from a "Supervised Swimmer" to a "Proficient Swimmer". Upon completion of the Beginner II/III class, they will be confident in their ability to swim without a swimming aid and will exhibit the skills and attitude required to be safe around and in the water. 

BEGINNER I

The Beginner I course is designed for beginner swimmers with no previous swimming experience.

Prerequisites:

Must be at least 4 years old.

Swimming Skills:

None

Final Goals:

Swim 6 meters (20ft.) with windmill arms, get front breath with assistance, and resume windmill arms to destination. Must use arms and legs in forward motion.

BEGINNER II

The Beginner II course is designed for beginner swimmers with formal swim training.

Prerequisites:

Must be at least 4 years old and have completed Beginner I (or equivalent).

Entry Swimming Skills:

Swim 6 meters (20ft.) with windmill arms, get front breath with assistance, and resume windmill arms to destination. Must use arms and legs in forward motion.

Final Goals:

Swim 12 meters (40ft.) with windmill arms, get front breath without assistance, and resume windmill arms to destination. Must use arms and legs in forward motion.

BEGINNER III

The Beginner III course is combined with the Beginner II class but offers a structured method of challenging the advanced swimmer.

Prerequisites:

Must be at least 4 years old and have completed Beginner II (or equivalent).

Entry Swimming Skills:

Swim 12 meters (40ft.) with windmill arms, get front breath without assistance, and resume windmill arms to destination. Must use arms and legs in forward motion.

Final Goals:

Swim 12 meters (40ft.) with windmill arms, and independent side breath.
